Blackinkk card holders, sleeves and wallets are made from full-grain Australian veg-tanned kangaroo leather, sourced from a local family-run tannery in Sydney, Australia. The tannery has been in operation for over a 100 years.
We chose to use kangaroo leather as it is sustainable to the local environment as well as being one of the strongest leathers in the world. In an effort to survive Australia’s harsh environment, kangaroos have developed unique characteristics. The scratches and scarring that are found on your wallet naturally occur on a wild kangaroo.
A Blackinkk wallet is as unique as its owner.
Kangaroo leather can endure high stress wear, is resistant to abrasion and has UV protective properties.
This uniquely Australian leather is used throughout the Blackinkk wallet range where style, protection and durability are a high priority.
Full-grain leather is the highest grade of leather available. It takes its name from the fact that it retains the entire grain (top layer). It is the strongest part and gives the leather a prized natural look, texture and durability.
Veg-tanned leather is made using traditional methods using only natural ingredients such as tree barks, roots and flower pods. It is environmentally friendly and no chemicals are used in the process, making each piece of leather unique.
